since 2020, emma has been studying editing at filmakademie baden-württemberg. in 2022, she spent a semester abroad at the paris film school la fémis, funded by a scholarship from the baden-württemberg foundation. the short film she made there premiered at the 30th sarajevo film festival and was nominated for the civis media prize 2025. during her studies, she was responsible for editing numerous short films, documentaries, and commercials that were presented and awarded at international festivals, including a student bafta shortlist 2023 and an edimotion young talent award nomination in 2025.
her first feature film, babystar, a co-production with zdf / kleines fernsehspiel, celebrated its world premiere at the 50th toronto international film festival and is set to be released in cinemas in 2026. she will participate in Berlinale Talents the same year.
